As my bio will tell you, I spent a couple of my teenage years trying, not very hard, to become a solicitor, having been manoeuvred into that position by my parents whose understanding of the world outside teaching was very limited. One of the things that I did learn is that given the confrontational nature of that profession, roughly fifty per cent of lawyers are wrong.
