Ian Forbes

The guy who performed my first wedding ceremony, 46 years ago was called Ian Forbes also. Any relation? As for your question, no it isn’t strictly necessary to read the Skinner series in sequence, but it helps, as the characters evolve, develop,  and on the odd occasion die.

Ian Forbes, minister is a distant relative of mine. I know he preached in the Western Highlands about 50 years ago. I think he was located at Benbecula.

I have just finished Mathew’,s Tale and having read all of your books, thoroughly enjoyed the change of pace. Growing up in East Lothian I was pleased to see my home town of North Berwick mentioned yet again. The walking tour of the New Town also brought back memories.
I left Scotland over 50 years ago and enjoyed your novel tremendously……………………..please do not let us wait too long for the sequel!

Is Mabon Cunningham still alive? I used to work with a guy of that name 54years ago at Sculthorpes in George Street. If it is the same person please ask him to get in touch.

If he is and reads this, maybe he’ll post a reply.
