I’ve been saying for years that Peter Capaldi would be one of my top choices to play Bob Skinner on screen. Now he’s been announced as the next Doctor Who, I’m thinking; too bad I don’t write sci-fi.

So what other actors would be one of your top choices to play Bob Skinner and why isn’t there a film/tv series????
Q1. Idris Elba, but he’s pretty much Luthered out. David Tennant, but will he do another Broadchurch? Dougie Henshall, but he’s committed to more Shetland stories? That just leaves Gerard Butler. Fourth choice I know, but what the hell.
Q2. Because nobody’s made it yet. When they do I’ll want a degree of character control.
Let’s go back to Sean Bean…weathered,maybe, but surely Bob is too by now and Mac.ho enougH to play the tough, intimidating guy!
Btw. When they do(and let’s hope they do) PLEASE. Maintain strict control over character and story!
