For a horse
Thank you BBC for The White Queen, great gripping knights in armour drama. Fiction rather than history, yes, but bloody good, especially the barking mad Margaret Beaufort.
Too bad there can’t be a second series. They’d pretty much run out of Yorkists at the end.

Sad to say I missed this, along with Top of the Lake. We have hardly seen any tv this past couple of months, but thanks for the recommendation – we will have to get the dvds. Also having to get the dvd of Luther. We recorded all the episodes on auto timer, but one turned out blank and for some reason – no doubt financial – they have not had it on iPlayer.
Honestly, I did try with this, but I just couldn’t take it. I am a ferocious Yorkist, but am quite capable of suspending my allegiance where necessary and just have a jolly good wallow, plus it’s nice to have something that doesn’t immediately focus on the blithering Tudors. So I was a bit sad that I couldn’t get into it. Maybe the problem was that we all know how it ends…
Little Prince Richard not being dead was a bit of a twist.
I was looking for a poleaxe being used when KRIII got his on Bosworth Field, but it was probably made before the forensic anthropologists got their hands on the real one’s skeleton.
Honestly though, I think they should all just have pulled themselves together and that Mad Margaret Beaufort could have given them a good stern talking-to. Think of the hours that could have been saved… but these monarchs will have their little games, I suppose.
