EIBF

In just over an hour I’ll be heading off to Charlotte Square, for my gig at the Edinburgh International Book Festival. I’d have thought they’d have been tired of me by now, but apparently not. Thanks in advance to everyone who turns up. and to those who thought about it, but couldn’t make it.

Hope as always, you have a great time at EIBF. The Book Festival is always a special festival and in particular we get the chance to meet authors, like yourself. I met you quite a few years ago and you signed ‘Skinner’s Festival’ for me, quite an apt book for August I felt! Enjoy 🙂

I was at the EIBF on Tuesday and Wednesday and was disappointed that I did not get a chance to meet you. I should have checked when you were going to be there. Had to go home to Elgin on Thursday. I was sad that I did not get a chance to meet you as I enjoy your books, as does my father who is an 85 year old an ex policeman! I am a recent convert and I am trying to read the Skinner books in order, although I have had some difficulty getting the earlier books. They had a good selection at the EIBFso I bought a couple of the earlier ones. I am pleased to see that there are a number of the titles available on Kindle, so I will have to buy myself one soon. Please assure me that you still receive royalties for Kindle versions, as if authors lose out I would not wish to be involved as in the long term this would reduce the variety of authors’ works available. Thank you for the books you have written from a very satisfied customer.

First, Mark, all the books are available, signed, on this page, through the link on the right. As for e-books, yes royalties are payable on all sales. It’s a very new market and publishers ain’t seers, so nobody really knows how it will pan out. E-readers are first and foremost a travellers’ tool. I have one, but still I prefer the printed book.
