Nutbush City limits

Warning! Don’t get caught speeding in Effingham County (Was there ever a place better named?) as did Jose Maria Olazabal Manterola, our Ryder Cup  captain. If you do, they will fine you a significant amount of money, but much worse, they will take your mugshot and post it on their website, to be lifted and used by any newspaper in the world, including what used to be the Daily Telegraph. Another small example of what can happen when a nation declines to ratify international treaties on human rights.

    I wasn’t aware that speeding was a human right-or privacy,either

Then stick with QJ, and many things will become clear. I suspect that the public stocks would go down well in Effingham County, GA. However, I’ve driven from NYC to DC, down the NJ turnpike et al. If everyone who speeded past me, and on all the other highways had their mugshot posted on the internet, alongside thieves, dope peddlers and kiddie-fiddlers, I suspect that the second American Revolution wouldn’t be long in occurring.

Aren’t they already???What with the traffic in cyberspace, Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, etal, no’one’s privacy is assured. We have speed cameras on the freeways here in the “outcountry” of Az and one’s face is not one’s own!

Even now, there are still some places where privacy laws exist. Most cyberspace traffic is voluntary. I would like to visit the “outcountry’ of Az. If I do I will drive legally.

Welcome to you if you show up–but the speed cameras may have met their death as there is a growing antipathy towards their use by “joe Blow” and a revolution is already brewing. Is their need for privacy an instinct or a societal construct???

A long time ago, in L’Escala, Spain, the people who own the marina, the Club Nautic, decided that everyone who used it should have to pay to park. So they installed a barrier on the roadway, with a hut for the man who collected the cash and handed out the tickets. Many small fisherman work out of the marina. On day one, they all paid their money and parked. Then they had a meeting. When it was over, they walked back to the barrier, broke it, and threw it in the sea. It was never replaced.

Such a destructive (?) action has been attempted by the anti s and the cameras and still there. I don’t know if the destroyers are in jail …or stocks… but the cameras and cohorts seem to rule!
