No, there is no mention of Euro ’96 in Grievous Angel. Neither I Bob Skinner, nor, I am sure Colin Hendry, should he chance upon the book, care to be reminded of Gazza’s goal at Wembley. I prefer to recall the one he didn’t score, against Germany, but I couldn’t work that into the plot.

    Quintin you do not do yourself justice.

    Any man who has the skill to work into the plot an unfulring of the league championship flag at Easter Road, as you did in an earlier Skinner, has the ability to work ANYTHING into the plot!!!

    I look forward to reading about Hibs Scottish cup victory in a forthcoming Skinner….at my age now I think I will only get to read about such a thing ina work of fiction….

      IMO, Hibs did themselves in by eliminating the famous slope. They’ve never been the same team since. Mind you it could work against them. I recall seeing George Best, in a green shirt, tear Partick Thistle apart in the first half. Then they changed ends . . .
