Vanja Ingold (and everyone else who’s asked this question lately)

The publication date for Skinner 23 is now showing on the Headline website, and soon on CampbellReadBooks. It’s called  Pray for the Dying and it’s been scheduled to escape on June 6, 2013. I’ll let you know if that changes.

I’ve just got to the end of ‘Funeral Note’………….it’s not nearly as absorbing as all of your previous productions – come on – this was just clutching at straws!……..Must try harder (come on, you’re in the ‘entertainment’ business!)

You can please some of the people some of the time . . .

You’re entitled to your opinion, David, although it would be more valid if it was constructive rather than smug abusive. However you are not entitled to tell me to try harder, as you could not come close to imagining how hard I work to turn out two books a year. That is probably the most impertinent thing that anyone, least of all a financial consultant, could possibly say to me . . . only you haven’t said it to my face, you’ve merely spray-painted it on the wall of my blog.

I could have edited or deleted your comment (I have that power) but I thought I’d let it stand.

‘Morning again – I suspevt that i touched a ‘raw nerve’ there – however – you’re still a tremendous author (and, I can only imagine the angst you must go through to produce such ‘page -turning’ / entertaining work). Perhaps Funeral Note was just not on my ‘Wave length – perhaps, ‘I’ must try harder! – Have a nice day – David

Okay, let’s both have nice days. Now I must get on with knocking my pan out and resisting (probably unsuccesfully) the urge to go to the beach.

I am really enjoying Funeral Note, and although it’s in a slightly different format, it works well for me. With the possible exception of the one about golf, I have loved every one of your books, and I didn’t not like that one.

Bob Skinner, in particular, has deprived me of a lot of sleep, and he and your other characters never disappoint – thank you for all your work and amazing creativity.

I absolutely loved Funeral Note which I have just finished. I loved that it was written from the well known different characters perspective. INn a different format to all the other books. I can now hardly wait for Pray For the Dead. I love all the Bob Skinner novels. Quintin…..I love your writing. Never stop!
