Noises off

I hear what you say, Gillian. The decision to use several readers was taken by Isis because of the structure of the book, and I was consulted on certain aspects of the casting. It was a brave call, given that it was always going to be impossible to please all of the people all of the time, and possibly any of them. For example, so far I haven’t got past the first section, because whoever else that guy is meant to sound like, he isn’t a ferocious Leither of Irish/Italian descent.

But I promise, it was a one-off. Pray for the Dying is third person, and my expectation is that Jim will be back.

    Hello
    That explains it all
I also had a problem with the first chapter, my response was stop shouting at me, Mario speaks quietly, then he growls, followed by the roar, but never shouts.
With James its as though he is reading just for me….
    Thanks
    Take care

Hi assume your talking about funeral note audio book, really struggling with the accents, very distracting but am persevering. Just a note tho, during second part Skinner refers to his youngest daughter as Shonagh!! Come back James.

That probably was James, and I’m sorry, but it’s correct. Look it up.

Sorry Q am confused as throughout book she has two different names, Shonagh and sinead, (apologies if spelling incorrect).

Anyway the book’s brilliant as usual!!!!

Now I’m confused! However, it seems that different readers have used different pronunciations. It’s unlikely that any future books will have multi-reader audio versions, but if it does happen I’ll try to ensure that there is a standard version used throughout.
