Spot on. I was taken there by an uncle and aunt back in the fifties to see the Dali. I was only eight, so it didn’t say as much to me as it does now, but I was very keen on the arms and armour.
we used to live up at the top end of the Byres Road and our two (precocious) sons would complain if we didn’t pay a visit at least once a month. The art exhibitions were fantastic too. I remember going to an exhibition of Russian painters and being blown away by their use of light. Quite different to, but in no way inferior to, Dutch interiors being shown along in the next gallery. It was an interesting comparison.
Bodlien ( sp) Library???
Bodleian, but no. A University city, yes, but not that one.
Istanbull
Kelvinhall Art Gallery and museum, Glasgow, surely. A superb institution – and the organ concerts are (or were) terrific.
