Plugged in
My dad took little notice of music; it got in the way of his reading. I doubt that he’d have liked ‘Wilder Mind’, the third Mumford and Sons album. But I do; it reminds me of the time when the younger Dylan caused outrage among his folkie following by going on stage with an electric backing band. i doubt that we’ll see such fury this time round.

There is a thing here, Bob Dylan did something that was unexpected and “different” at the time, hence the “Judas” thing in Manchester. I’ve just listened to M&Sons and I don’t get it. They’ve gone backwards rather than forewards. Think U2 and Simple Minds at the start – wall of sound (not Spector), they have wiped their finger-prints and it doesn’t work for me, I think they’ve lost their identity trying to be “new.” They will continue to fill stadiums but for how long? No soul, doesn’t feal real.
I have wilder Mind on a play-list with some sounds in the same box. Still stands out by a mile.
