Southern rail users face more strikes as drivers reject Aslef-backed deal
When Ronald Reagan became President, air traffic controllers went on strike. He fired 11,000 of them. He had the power to do that, but he also had the balls. If I lived in the Southern Rail area, I’d be looking for someone to follow his example.

Before this strike began, passengers wanted Southern to lose the franchise due to its inability to provide a train service, regardless of industrial action.
If every train operator is fired, it will take one year to recruit and train new drivers.
Worse, the Chief executives of Southern and its parent company GTR will still be trousering £5m a year between them.
The unions have their faults but proportional response(or otherwise) should also involve removing millionaires who are taking money, (mostly taxpayers) and not providing the service they’re supposed to.
A bit like footballers but that’s another argument for another day.
Ah, it’s the passengers’ fault.
No, not at all. They are undeserving victims placed in an outrageous situation.
