Mediterranean nights

It’s 22:59, my screen tells me, and I am sat outside on a humid night listening to some twat belting out a version of La Macarena. This is more than a little passé to us old hands but the market for Europop is self-renewing.

This would be tolerable if it were not for the fact that the sound is coming from a campsite one and a half kilometres away and I can do follar todo about it. The small crumb of comfort is that the law requires them to cease at midnight.

I close with a word to the wise: if you have small children and are thinking of a canvas holiday, do not take them anywhere near Camping Maite in L’Escala. Also, if any of my neighbours should read this and are thinking of complaining to the licensing authority about the din, don’t waste your time. They can do follar todo about it either.

Hello. I’m a would be loyal reader of the Bob Skinner series. I say, would be because the Seattle public library system doesn’t have anything more recent than Hour of Darkness. I have requested newer works so many times that I finally asked a librarian to find out why more recent works aren’t stocked on the shelves. The answer I received is that your publisher, Headline, doesn’t publish enough copies for them to purchase. The Seattle public library system doesn’t work with Amazon, they order directly through the publishers. Please contact the Seattle Public Library to rectify this. Thank you!

The librarian was ill-informed: Headline is one of many imprints published in the US by Hachette Book Group, and all my titles see available. We’re going to ask the HBG sales team to reach out to the Seattle Public Library system or their supplier with a list of those titles, indicating that they are all available to order. Hopefully they’ll order a range so that their would-be readers can be kept happily occupied!

I have recently read two of the Skinner series. Quintin great storylines and I don’t mind the personal bits, but I wish you and other authors would abridge it a little, almost 500 pages, and heavy to carry if travelling. But I love them.

OMG!! I just checked my library queue and five, FIVE, 5, newer Bob Skinner books are being ordered!!! Thank you for your assistance and information. FWIW, I appreciate that they are books approximately 500 pages each!!! No reason to not get a workout whilst reading…;)

I’m not going to go through all 46, but I’d be surprised if any of them run to 500 pages.

I’d be happy if they did! Thanks again for your help.
